America’s Top Gun Grabber Returns With Terrifying New Ambitions

Beto O’Rourke, who has attempted before, unsuccessfully, to run for the United States Senate and the Presidency, has now revealed his Texas gubernatorial ambitions.

O’Rourke was a member of the United States House from 2013 until 2019. He failed to beat incumbent GOP Senator Ted Cruz during the 2018 senatorial contest. Then in 2019, O’Rourke went for a presidential bid, but he dropped out later on that year.

If O’Rourke successfully gets the Democratic nomination to then attempt to become governor, winning a general election would probably prove to be a hard task since Democrats have never won a governorship election in this state since the year 1990.

Former President Donald Trump won the state in his 2020 election, continuing in a long-time GOP winning streak — but the last time a Dem took Texas during an election was over four decades ago in 1976.

“Bring it,” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott said via Twitter. The GOP governor said that Beto O’Rourke wants to “defund the police,” “kill good paying gas and oil jobs,” “allow open borders,” “support the failing Joe Biden agenda,” “impose socialism,” and “seize your guns.”

Abbott has been the state’s governor since 2015.

“Most of us know the responsibility that comes from owning a gun, and we will vigorously safeguard that Second Amendment right and also keep the lives of people around us safe,” O’Rourke said to The Texas Tribune. “But I believe most of us also know we should not have military-like weapons used against our fellow citizens. We have four of the worst shootings in United States history right here in this state that happened over the past five years.”

During his presidential bid, O’Rourke pushed for a mandatory government buyback program for certain firearms.

“Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15 and your AK-47,” O’Rourke said back in 2019.

This comes at a time when Republicans are gaining ground in almost every election poll that is being released.
