President Biden is set to announce rules about mask wearing from the CDC. Ahead of his first Congressional address tonight, he’s anticipated to loosen outdoor mask requirements for vaccinated people.
This comes after he got pushback in January for ordering the public to wear masks on federal lands until April 29. At a briefing earlier in the week, Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that the CDC will be updating the past mandates.
“I know there are some reports about the CDC and we will leave it to them to announce their rules., she said. “About when masks are required for individuals who are vaccinated, so we won’t get ahead of their announcements.”

The CDC currently says that vaccinated Americans should wear a mask while in public, but critics say this is to change with President Biden’s announcement today.
