Democratic Nominee Joe Biden messed up so horrendously, that even the mainstream media is calling him out after he refused – yet again – to answer one of the most important questions of this election.
Biden was asked Thursday, while at a campaign event in Arizona, about whether or not he supports a radical move to “pack the courts” in response to the pending confirmation of another justice that would give conservatives a 6-3 advantage on the highest court.
Joe Biden refused to answer, almost snickering that Americans would just have to vote for him and find out. “You’ll know my position on court-packing the day after the election,” Biden said.
The mentally questionable former vice president claimed that his refusal was once again due to the fact that he didn’t want it to become a distraction.
“The moment I answer that question, the headline in every one of your papers will be about that rather than focusing on what’s happening now.”
Joe Biden has avoided answering repeated questions over whether he supports the move to expand the court – including refusing to answer a question last week as he faced off in Cleveland, Ohio, with Trump at the first presidential debate.
This time, when the Democrat attempted to evade the question – the media FINALLY held him somewhat accountable.
“This doesn’t make any sense,” ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl reacted.
“The Supreme Court is on the minds of many and people are voting now. He needs to answer,” Daily Beast reporter Hanna Trudo wrote.
“This is such a cop-out,” CBS News correspondent Kathryn Watson agreed.
“Can he really hold to this same answer for 26 days?” Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler asked.
“Not sure I’ve ever seen a politician explicitly say I’m not telling you what I think about an important issue until after you vote for me,” Axios reporter Jonathan Swan said.
“I have never seen a presidential candidate go with the ‘if I answer your question it will make news’ excuse. It’s truly insulting, and the media is letting him get away with it,” RealClearPolitics co-founder and president Tom Bevan tweeted.
“This question should continue to be asked until Biden commits one way or another,” tweeted The Hill media reporter Joe Concha. “A decision of this magnitude altering the course of the third branch of government forever cannot be just shrugged off. This should lead on the nightly newscasts tonight. It won’t.”
Kamala Harris was standing alongside Biden during the Arizona event. Just the night before, Harris found herself running from the same question during a debate with Vice President Mike Pence where he assertively requested that she or Biden provide an answer to this question for voting Americans.
“You’ve refused to answer the question, Joe Biden has refused to answer the question, so I think the American people would really like to know,” Pence said. “If Judge Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States, are you and Joe Biden, if somehow you win this election, going to pack the Supreme Court to get your way?”
Trump campaign rapid response director Andrew Clark took to Twitter after Biden’s comments to write “17 DAYS: Biden and Harris STILL refuse to come clean about their plans to rig the Supreme Court.”
