White House press secretary Jen Psaki has said that President Biden is asking Americans “to sacrifice a little longer.”
“The nation has been closed for over a year now and people have missed weddings, parties, sporting events and restaurants,” Psaki said.
“It is hard, and what he and the White House is asking of the American people it to sacrifice a bit longer.”
Biden is thought to be announcing that by April 19, all adults will qualify to get the vaccine.
“The president knows this has been a long and hard journey for the American people,” Psaki said.
The president said on March 2 that the nation was on pace to having enough vaccines for every adult by the end of May.
The Texas Rangers’ game was completely filled on Monday as this video shows.
“We certainly expect, as the weather gets warmer, there will be a temptation to go to games and other events,” Psaki said.
“We have seen local leaders expressing to their citizens that we need to stay vigilant and wear masks and we will get through this together,” she said.
“So we are hoping that is exactly what most communities will do.”
