Democrats’ Gun Control Agenda Meets An Impassable Obstacle

An AP poll has showed that Americans who say they are Independents are overwhelmingly against President Biden’s push for more gun control.

Pollsters asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of Biden’s handling of guns?”

Fifty-five percent of self-reported Independents said they disapproved while only 39 percent showed approval.

Among GOP members, 80 percent disapproved of the President’s gun control push while just 17 percent approved. Democrat numbers were flipped, with 77 percent approving and 20 percent disapproving.

In April, Breitbart ran a piece reporting on a Washington Post Poll showing the support for gun control was lower by seven percent since the 2018 Parkland shooting.

A deeper analysis at the poll revealed a collapse in gun control support among young people and Hispanics.

Breitbart’s John Nolte said that in 2018, 65 percent of people aged between 18 and 29 reported they supported new gun control measures, specifically “red flag” measures and a limit on the capacity of magazines. But just three years after, that number went down by a full 20 points to only 45 percent.

Now this new poll further shows the majority of people are against Biden’s gun control.
