The Wuhan Lab in China did in fact keep live bats at its facilities, a report by an Australian news outlet revealed this weekend, contradicting the W.H.O, which has always reported that such suggestions are a conspiracy.
The details came on the exact day that the organization also said “all hypotheses are still on the table” concerning the sources of covid-19, an apparent challenge to China which has stated many times it is not responsible for the pandemic and theories that report the virus being made by humans are wrong.
Sky News Australia got official Chinese Academy of Sciences footage that marked the opening of the new biosafety level 4 lab in 2017 that deals with security precautions if “an accident” happens.
The video reveals bats in a cage on site, along with a scientist feeding a bat.
The video is titled “The research team of P4 lab of Wuhan Institute of Virology” and shows interviews with its top scientists.
Elements can be viewed in the full story below:
The original report looking into the source of the pandemic did not mention any bats that were housed at the lab and only its annex mentioned animals being kept there.
“The animal room can manage a variety of species, including primates with SARS-CoV-2., it says.
A person on the W.H.O. team looking into the source of the virus in Wuhan, zoologist Peter Daszak stated it was a conspiracy to say that bats were kept at the Wuhan Virology lab and no evidence supported such an allegation.
In one tweet in December of 2020 he said: “No BATS were given to Wuhan lab for research. That is not how it works. We get bat samples, send them to a lab. We RELEASE bats after we catch them!”
Other members were quick to also downplay such questions or links about the safety of the Wuhan lab.
It is “extremely unlikely” the coronavirus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, and is more likely to have jumped to humans from an animal, W.H.O. investigators said Tuesday. https://t.co/wush1l4IjD

Sky News Australia reported that the video was found by researchers investigating the source of the pandemic who call their group “DRASTIC.”
Digital archivist “Jesse” discovered the video while the group’s leader, who goes by the pseudonym “Billy Bostickson,” has complained of evidence existing that bats were housed in the Wuhan labs.
The video is a part of the investigation founding the book “What Really Happened in Wuhan.”
Meanwhile, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the current W.H.O. Director General, said more “openness” from China was required in the continuing investigation and suggested that the country had not been forthcoming.
Tedros, speaking at the G7 summit, stated that a lab leak had not been ruled out and “all hypothesis should be open., a belief long held by others concerned about China’s stonewalling of research.
“Isn’t it strange that this once-in-a-century bat coronavirus pandemic just happened to emerge within a few miles of China’s biggest laboratory researching bat coronaviruses? Shouldn’t we at least look at that lab?” https://t.co/qjtCT61DGI

Tedros estimated around 3.75 million people had died from the virus and another 174m were confirmed to have caught the virus.
He said: “I believe these people deserve that the source of the virus is found so we can prevent this from happening again.”
Tedros also said there was not enough “transparency and co-operation” from China at the start of the investigation, despite what China has said.
