Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines after being caught partying maskless in the free state of Florida – while New York endures some of its highest coronavirus case counts to date – despite strict masking and vaccine requirements.
“The New York congresswoman who has been in Miami since before the new year, appeared to be continuing her vacation in the Sunshine State at a packed drag bar event in the city,” The Daily Mail reported.
“In a short clip posted to social media, Ocasio-Cortez could be seen waving to other bargoers to cheers and applause while being introduced on stage by the MC of the ‘drag brunch’ event.”
The news was first reported by Florida’s Conservative Voice. The group’s founder, Brendon Leslie, tweeted: “EXPOSED: AOC is STILL lounging it up in Florida, in large crowds and maskless. This time at a Drag Queen bar in Miami. Rules for thee but not for me.”
“For those of you with zero sense of humor: the whole point of this post is to expose hypocrisy,” Leslie continued. “We don’t actually care she’s maskless. We care she fear mongers about Florida but then has the audacity to vacation here.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded aggressively to critics on Friday who pointed out that the far-left representative was hanging out in Miami – enjoying the freedom of GOP Gov. Desantis’ state.
National Review reported that, according to photographs obtained by the publication, Ocasio-Cortez was “seated outside Doraku Sushi and Izakaya in Miami Beach Thursday afternoon, raising a cocktail in one hand and checking her phone in another.”
“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet,” Ocasio-Cortez bizarrely responded to one of the critics calling her out. “Ya creepy weirdos.”
“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general,” AOC continued. “These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird.”
Normally, a Democrat vacationing in the Sunshine State would not be such a big deal – but AOC’s decision to do so exposes her hypocrisy as she does so as New York experiences a historic case count, after attacking Sen. Ted Cruz last year for briefly traveling to Mexico as the state of Texas dealt with storm-related fallout.
“New York smashed its single-day COVID case record for the second straight day Thursday, reporting at least 74,207 new positives as the omicron surge stretches hospitals further,” NBC New York reported. “Meanwhile, hospitalizations continue to climb.”
Ocasio-Cortez also lashed out at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ campaign, which tweeted at her.
“Welcome to Florida, AOC!” DeSantis’ campaign said. “We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded by suggesting without evidence that DeSantis had “been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks,” before saying that she wanted to “help with local organizing” in Florida.
