Feds Ambush Anti-White College With Lawsuit

The Justice Department announced on Thursday that it intends to file suit against Yale University for widespread racial discrimination against White and Asian students who apply to the prestigious college.

“Yale’s discrimination imposes undue and unlawful penalties on racially-disfavored applicants, including in particular most Asian and White applicants,” the DOJ alleges in its press release on the lawsuit. Racial discrimination by colleges and universities is illegal under the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but many schools have gotten away with discrimination for decades under the guise of affirmative action.

The DOJ cited the incredibly high standard required of White and Asian applicants to Yale relative to the academic credentials required of more privileged groups.

“For the great majority of applicants, Asian Americans and Whites have only one-eighth to one-fourth of the likelihood of admission as African American applicants with comparable academic credentials. Yale rejects scores of Asian American and White applicants each year based on their race, whom it otherwise would admit.”

The lawsuit comes after Yale refused to cooperate with federal inquiries on the school’s use of race-based admission practices. Asian American groups have increasingly waged campaigns against the affirmative action practices of elite universities, which may disenfranchise Asian students more than any other group.

California is one of the only states in the country that specifically bans affirmative action in college admissions, although many schools evade accountability for prejudiced admission standards through loopholes and concealed measures. Liberal elites have launched a statewide referendum to overturn the state constitution ban on affirmative action in college admissions, but the measure is trailing badly in polling, even within the incredibly liberal state.

A constitution amendment or act of Congress may be the best measure to put an end to racially discriminatory affirmative action once and for all. However, the Justice Department’s lawsuit against Yale could send a powerful message to elite universities who aim to restrict individuals of certain races from enrolling in the name of “equality” and “progress.”
