GOP Senator Susan Collins from Maine has joined Senate Democrats to destroy Trump’s pullback of methane emission regulations.
The Republican senator said she will support a Democratic bill to reverse the Trump rule by using the CRA, short for Congressional Review Act. A measure that would let regulations passed in the previous 60 legislative days be undone.
The Trump rule had lightened regulations on American energy companies as part of President Donald Trump’s drive to correct a set of Obama policies. It removed requirements to watch and control methane leaks from pipelines, wells, other operations.
Collins has previously joined Democrats to control methane emissions as they fight so-called climate change.
