In the 13 reelection events since returning to the campaign trail following his COVID-19 diagnosis, President Trump has attracted more than 167,000 rally goers, many of them first-time voters and even more who are not Republicans.

According to GOP rally data posted by Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, the Trump airport campaign events strongly suggest that he is building out his base and that media reports the president is only talking to his core constituency are wrong.

Her reports, based on information taken by attendees and those who signed up to attend, show that about one quarter did not vote in 2016, and a third were not even Republicans.

For example, at Trump’s Oct. 17 stop in Janesville, Wisconsin, McDaniel said that 47.5% of the 13,850 said they were not Republicans.

And at his Oct. 14 stop in Des Moines, Iowa, she said that 29.4% of the 10,134 were Democrats.

At Trump’s first post-COVID stop, Sanford, Florida, on Oct. 12, she said that 24.4% did not vote in 2016, and 31.8% were not Republicans. What’s more, 16.3% were Democrats.

With the enthusiasm for and curiosity about, Trump on the rise, the party today also announced another month of record fundraising, prompting McDaniel to say, “The RNC & @TeamTrump have the largest political operation in history, built to turn out voters with surgical precision. We are in the final sprint of this campaign, and we are well equipped to win!”
