GOP lawmakers proposed a new resolution this week to censure President Biden for “failure to carry out his duties.”
Twenty-three Republicans led by Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert put forward a censure measure to show their complete “disapproval of Biden’s failure to keep his constitutional duty of ‘taking Care that Laws be faithfully carried out,’” according to the lawmaker’s press release.

The statement said the censure “holds Biden accountable for his behavior — or lack thereof — at the southern border.”
“Biden has not enforced the laws concerning securing our southern border, he has not visited our border, his appointed border czar VP Kamala has not visited our border, and his Secretary of Homeland Security is lying to the public by claiming that our border is closed. Not only has the president done nothing to protect our border, he has made it much worse by creating policies that encourage illegal immigration such as amnesty and ending Trump’s remain in Mexico policy. The result of Biden’s mistakes are staggering., Boebert said.
The freshman Republican then revealed how Biden caused the border crisis to get “proactively worse” by restarting catch and release.
Catch and release was reimplemented by the Biden White House in January, and allows illegals to remain in the United States as they await their immigration court hearings.
Customs and Border Protection has reported a record-high amount of 180,000 illegals were caught at the southern border in the month of May, in comparison to the 23,000 caught in May of 2020.
VP Kamala Harris said this week that she would go to the the U.S.-Mexico border. Harris’ trip will be 93 days after President Biden appointed her to lead his team’s response to the border crisis. Harris will go to the border in El Paso, Texas, along with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
