Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders (Vt.) attempted to defend the broad infrastructure definition in Biden’s upcoming plan.
During an interview this Saturday, Senator Sanders said that infrastructure was not only bricks and mortar, but humans as well. He said this is why it is ok for the $2.3 trillion program to include agendas like climate change, affordable housing and drug prices.
The senator also took aim at conservatives, who are not likely to support the plan.
“They live within their world, and they will try to block as much of what Biden and Congress are attempting to do,” Sanders said.
As the leader of the Senate Budget Committee, Sanders approved the usage of budget reconciliation to force the infrastructure bill through without Republican’s support.
