Medical analyst Dr. Leana Wen warned the Biden White House that it has limited time for vaccinating as many Americans as possible to coronavirus as states start removing covid restrictions, pushing the administration to connect vaccinations to Americans’ “freedoms.”
Wen, as the former president of Planned Parenthood, went on CNN and stressed the importance of making it “clear” to anyone nervous about taking the vaccine “that the vaccine is the road back to pre-pandemic life.”
“The window for that is narrowing,” Wen said. “All these states are reopening at 100%. And we have a narrow window to connect vaccination status with reopening policy.”
She continued:
“Because if we are fully reopened, then what will the carrot be? How will we incentivize people to get the vaccine? So that is why I believe the CDC and Biden’s team must come out louder and say, ‘If you are vaccinated, you can do these things. Here are the freedoms you have.’ Because if not, people will go out and enjoy these freedoms anyway,” she said.
Wen topped off the nonsense with, “I fear a situation in the fall, where we don’t have heard immunity, and we get hit by another surge of the virus.”
