Trump Comes Clean About The Moment His Administration Almost Fell Apart

Former President Trump has said that firing ex-FBI Director James Comey in 2017 likely saved his administration.

Donald Trump made the assertion while being interviewed as a guest on the Fox News tv network over the weekend.

The 45th president was there to discuss his new photo book “Our Journey Together.”

“Do not forget, I fired James Comey. Had I not fired him, you may not be talking to me now about this beautiful book and about four years in the White House, and we will see about the future,” Donald Trump said.

President Trump reiterated later during his interview, “If I didn’t fire Comey, they wanted to destroy the president of the United States.”

“Some people said, ‘Trump made a mistake when he got rid of Comey.’ And now those same folks say it was the most instinctual and incredible moves that they have ever seen,’” Trump said.

“I don’t believe I could’ve survived if I didn’t fire him, because it was a hornets’ nest. When I got rid of him, they went crazy on each other.”

Just a week after Donald Trump dismissed Comey in 2017, Deputy A.G. Rod Rosenstein appointed the special counsel Robert Mueller to push forward with the FBI’s Russia investigation.

A few months before this, Comey briefed then President-elect Donald Trump about the infamous dossier put together by former British intel. agent Christopher Steele, which helped support the Russia conspiracy probe.

CNN reported during the time that the document had allegations that the Russian government had compromising financial and personal information about Donald Trump.

Steele was hired by the research firm Fusion GPS, which was hired by the D.C. law firm Perkins Cole, paid by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

The former president also gave a blunt critique of the late Senator John McCain from Arizona in giving credibility to the dossier by giving it to Comey.

“He sent it to the FBI,” Trump stated. “Great conservative he was, right? ‘Let’s take down the GOP president.’”

“He sent his copy of the fake report. If you made this into a movie, nobody would believe it,” Trump said.

The Arizona Republic news outlet reported in 2019 that court papers gave details into McCain’s part in the agenda, which Trump stressed in a tweet.

“So it was true (just now proven in court documents) ‘last in his class’ McCain sent the Fake Dossier to the Media and the FBI hoping it could be printed BEFORE the federal Election,” Trump said at the time, according to the media outlet. “He & the Democrats, working together, failed. Even the Fake News went against this garbage!”
