“I mean, this could lead to much bigger war than this one place,” Trump said during his interview at CPAC this Saturday, as reported by Fox News. “This could lead to many other nations and can lead to world war.”
Although Donald Trump noted that the most new sanctions might prevent Russian banks from getting access to the global financial markets were “very powerful,” he stated that paper alone was not enough.
“Sanctions are not enough, Putin understands how to avoid sanctions, and he goes through other nations,” Trump state.
The White House is “going to need to do more than just sanctions, I believe,” he said.
“And if they won’t,” Trump said. “It will be a very ugly thing that is happening. Should have never been allowed to happen.”
Trump said the ripple effects of what has happened cannot be underestimated.
“You never know when this could start world war,” he warned.
Will we be seeing another world war?
“You never believe a war will come out of it. All of a sudden, you see world war.”
“This is a very dangerous time for our country,” he said.
Trump said he was scared that China would be watching the world’s reaction to Russia’s invasion as it ponders if it should takeover Taiwan and noted that the Afghanistan withdrawal left China and Russia emboldened to see what it could do, now that Joe Biden was telegraphing United States weakness to the world.
“I really believe that was the most embarrassing — one of the lowest time in history of our nation,” Trump said. “And Putin and President Xi, they watched this, and I believe they probably had ideas that they did not have before seeing it since it was grossly incompetent.”
Trump said he would reply if the Biden White House called, which it has not, and said Biden is “stuck in this problem that should not have occurred, and we are going to see how it ends up.”
